Hey Girls
Our earlier story about lip balm prompted Wyeth to send samples of their latest product, ChapStick True Shimmer. I was picked to try them out.
They come in some yummy flavors like Botanical Berry and Tropical.
Initial Reactions
First thing I loved about these lip balms were the fabulous fragrances. Tropical True Shimmer smells like a Pina Colata and Botanical Berry smells like a Cosmopolitan. Can you tell I’m writing this just before happy hour?
I also loved pink packaging! That’s the color they used for Botanical Berry.
Using the Product
I tried Tropical first because I liked how it smelled. It is like putting a Pina Colata on your lips. It glides on so smoothly. It also makes your lips extra shiny. Left Brain tells me that’s because they contain Titanium Dioxide and Mica. I do not care. I love shiny lips!
The Botanical Berry balm tastes good too, but does not seem to shine like the Tropical one. Maybe they did not use enough mica?
Negatives?
One thing that takes a bit of getting used to with this product is that it feels a little “grainy” going on. It was like I could feel tiny grains of salt touching my lips. It might be worth it for the extra shine, but I can see how someone might not like the experience.
Missy's Summary
Overall, I loved these two new True Shimmer lip balms from Chapstick. The flavors last a long time, they make your lips shiny and they make your dry lips feel great. Petrolatum and mineral oil haters will not like them.
