What: Regional family event centered around a 5k run/walk (walkers are invited and welcome!). The Run for Clean Air is a combination of an air quality-awareness event for East Tennessee and a fundraiser for the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition. When: Saturday, April 10, 2010; registration starts onsite at 7:30am, run starts at 9am. We ask participants to have completed onsite registeration by 8:30am so as not to delay the race start.Where: Beautiful Cherokee Boulevard in Knoxville, TN. See the maps page for more information on the exact location, or for driving directions.
Why: To celebrate the wonderful outdoor environment that we have in East Tennessee and raise awareness for regional work that is led by the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition to improve our air quality and put alternative fuels in use! This begins with what community citizens can do to help, and that is what you will find here. Check our AQinfo page to learn about our local air quality issues.
Who: Anyone is invited to attend! You can put together your own team to participate, and we have also implemented a reduced price for entry for families of 3 or more!! See the Teams page for more info on teams, and see the main "Register" page for information on the family discount.

What Else is going on that day?- Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) showcase of 15-20 vehicles of six different fuel types
- "Clean Air QnA" session with prizes
- Displays from multiple regional groups that work in the air quality field, collectively providing solid information on our air quality issues

- A alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) "Ride-n-Drive" immediately follows the Run, and features many of the current hybrids on the market today, all for you to test drive in one place!
- NEW THIS YEAR -- THE CLEAN AIR KIDS ZONE!! Activities for kids ages 3-13 in their own tent will challenge them to learn about alternative fuels in a fun way and gain some prizes after they are done!
- Back massages by New Horizon Wellness Center for our weary participants

In addition, we have team prizes this year for the team that brings the most participants and the team that has the fastest time. The prizes will be:- Sets of tickets to the Wahoo Zip Lines in Sevierville, Tennessee! The Run co-directors have riden this set of 6 different lines that all are part of one ride, and you will have a blast on this combined longest zip line in the U.S.!
- If you've never been to Dollywood or Dollywood Splash Country, you're missing it! Dollywood just has oodles of stuff to do including rides and (my personal favorite) all the crafts, but if it's warmer weather, Splash Country is your destination of choice to beat the heat! One of our lucky teams this year will win 10 individual tickets to Dollywood plus 10 more individual tickets to Splash Country!
